There will be a hearing to determine the proportion of CPA funds to go
to 'affordable housing.'
I will be attending and identifying myself as Cambridge Green-Rainbow
to am interested public, concerned about maintaining the existing
proportion of 10% historic preservation, 10% open space, and 80%
housing. EFZ has asked for support. Local 40, will be in speaking in
favor, because it represents jobs for their members. 'Non-profit'
developers will be speaking in favor. Special interest groups, serviced
by Councillor Decker, and other special service Councillors will be
supportive. This is a very good opportunity for GRP members to speak
about the political necessity of allowing people to be housed in the
communities where they earn their livelihood, and the ecological
benefits. instead of saying "me too."
Peace,
Elie Yarden
